Oxford University Bank is a locally owned and operated community bank committed to serving the people of Oxford and Lafayette County, MS.
The Jackson Avenue property is a rehab of an existing single story bank structure. We designed the new building within the footprint of the existing structure and maintained the existing exterior walls and roof. The new design consists of a exterior rainscreen cladding of cement fiber board panels and glazing. A new brand sign is water-jet into the fiber cement panels with rear illumination. The corner of the building was removed and glazed with a wood mullion system. The same wood was used for box-shades around two windows—one on the front and one in the rear in the staff lounge space. A metal canopy was added over the glazed corner to help mediate direct sun, and painted to match the wood color.
The interiors are minimal with a few key elements—conversation table and teller counter—both clad in oak wood veneer. A small coffee niche is set within the side wall, and slim mullioned offices are added on the opposute side. A large printed graphic was added adjacent the entry door and visible from the major road, with an LED-encased in acrylic brand sign layered in front of the graphic and closer to the front glazing. A minimal shelving and cabinet is set within a concealed niche behind the teller counter for the display of local artwork and OUB brand communciations.
